Stephen L. Grose has been practicing law for over 30 years in civil litigation matters and takes pride in trying to find the best resolution for the client’s needs, whether that be arbitration, mediation, settlement or litigation. He has litigated cases in federal court in both the Eastern and Middle Districts and the Third Circuit. He has also handled cases in counties in the Central Tier of Pennsylvania from as far north as Tioga to as far south as Adams, as well as the counties outlying the Philadelphia metropolitan area. In representing his clients, he has also been called upon to handle appeals in both the state and federal courts, arguing in the Third Circuit, Pennsylvania Superior Court, and the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court.
Mr. Grose hasprovided counsel in litigation matters for plaintiffs, defendants, large corporations, small corporations, as well as governmental entities. After graduating from Dickinson Law School in 1979, he clerked for Federal District Judge Sylvia Rambo, after which he was hired as an associate with Pepper Hamilton & Sheetz, now Pepper Hamilton, LLP. During his six year tenure at Pepper Hamilton he was involved in the Three Mile Island litigation, as well as asbestos litigation and other large commercial litigation.
In 1987, he joined the law firm of Keefer Wood Allen & Rahal, LLP, where his practice was predominately defense oriented until he became a partner in 1990. After that time, his practice diversified from primarily defense and commercial litigation to handling defense in construction cases, workers’ compensation cases, employment law cases and also plaintiff personal injury and employment cases. In 2011, he went “of counsel” with Keefer Wood, until his association with Saidis, Sullivan & Rogers in October 2011.
He has handled hundreds of litigation cases ranging from the District Magistrate level to complex multi-million dollar litigation in federal and state courts. He is a member of the “Million Dollar Club” with regard to plaintiff cases for awards or settlements.
Mr. Grose has been a resident of Cumberland County for over sixteen years and served on the Cumberland Valley School Board for fourteen years. He has been a mediator for the Federal District Court in the Middle District of Pennsylvania for over twelve years and continues to participate in that program.
While at Dickinson, Mr. Grose was a contributing editor for the Dickinson Law Review. He has participated as a judge in moot court programs at Dickinson, as well as been an ad hoc presenter in civil litigation cases with local judges.
Mr. Grose has resided in the Harrisburg area since 1977 with his wife and three children.
